The Dream Team Series is GolfSpace’s flagship team-based indoor golf competition. A season-long tournament designed to replicate the drama, strategy, and pressure of real competitive golf, inside a TrackMan-powered arena.
Over five months, teams of three players competed in weekly tournament nights, with the winning team on a given night earning a spot in the finals. Additional tournament nights wins score teams an additional shot advantage in the playoffs.
By the end of the regular season, 20 teams battled out in an 18-hole playoff round, where the most dedicated teams had a clear advantage heading into the first hole. By the end, only 6 teams remained, having now earned a spot in the coveted Grand Final, where they competed for the Dream Team Trophy and a week-long dream golf experience to Queenstown – 7 nights and 5 rounds of golf of the best courses the South Island has to offer.
A Championship Setup at Old Head
For the Grand Final, competitors faced an 18-hole custom setup at Old Head Golf Club, one of Ireland’s most iconic and demanding coastal courses. At GolfSpace, the course was configured with long distance, aggressive pin placements, and elevated wind settings. A true championship test.
6 teams battled it out in an 18-hole round, with the top 3 teams advancing into a 3-hole aggregate playoff, where all of the pressure accumulated into one moment.
After 18 holes, three teams separated themselves:
Stu, Blaize and Jack led at -11, entering as clear favourites based on season-long form and a combined handicap of 18.
Dean, Phil and Peter sat second at -9, steady and composed with a combined handicap of 30.
Steve, Martin and Darren held third at -8. With a combined handicap of 54, they entered the night as underdogs, but remained within reach.
With podium positions decided, the title would be settled in a three-hole playoff.

A Playoff That Defined the Series
The first playoff hole, a long, narrow par 5, immediately delivered drama. All teams reached greenside in two. Then Steve chipped in for eagle. The underdogs struck first, and the room erupted. The others finished birdie, so just a shot behind heading into hole 2.
On the second playoff hole, a demanding 184-metre par 3, all teams found the green. Steve’s team converted another birdie. Dean’s team responded when Peter was last to putt and rolled in a sliding birdie putt and dropped the putter in celebration. The gap remained razor thin.
The final playoff hole, another narrow par 5, sealed the upset. Steve’s team reached the green in two and calmly secured a closing birdie. Against the odds, they became the inaugural Dream Team Champions and claimed the season’s grand prize: a golf trip to Queenstown.
But the night still had one more chapter to write.

Sudden Death for Second Place

With second place prizes on the line, Dean’s team made birdie to force Stu’s team into an eagle attempt. From seven metres on the fringe, Stu’s team drained the putt on their third attempt for eagle. Sudden death.
Two extra playoff holes followed. Both teams matched birdies on the first. Tension filled the venue. On the final hole, both teams were sitting pretty from 100m out. Phil launched an approach from 100 metres that never left the flag and dropped for eagle. A walk-off hole-out to secure second place in unforgettable fashion.
More Than a Tournament
The Dream Team Series was never just about winning a trophy.
It was designed to showcase a new way to experience golf.
Virtual golf is no longer a substitute for the real game, it has become a game of its own. Powered by TrackMan technology, players step into an environment where every shot is measured, every variable is accounted for, and world-class courses are playable year-round, regardless of weather or daylight. But beyond the technology, virtual golf introduces something traditional golf struggles to offer: flexibility, accessibility, and fast-paced competitive formats that fit modern lifestyles.
Dream Team embraced that evolution.
Rivalries formed across weeks rather than single rounds. Pressure moments happened under lights, with crowds, music, leaderboards, and fast action. It blended the authenticity of real golf with the energy of esports and the social atmosphere of a sports bar. A new hybrid experience, part sport, part entertainment, part community.
For many players, Dream Team wasn’t just their first virtual golf league. It was their first taste of competitive golf in any format. For others, it became a new way to stay sharp, stay connected, and experience courses they may never have the chance to play in person.
That is what made the season special. Not just who won, but how the game itself evolved.

Season 2 is coming
Season 1 has been a thrilling road.
Season 2 will set the tone for what Dream Team is capable of.

Not only will there be 2 weekly tournament nights, there will also be a weekly tournament available for your team to play anytime. We know life gets in the way sometimes.
Points are awarded to all those who participate, with the teams who perform when it matters being awarded accordingly. Points accumulate all season, and the more points you accumulate, the better your starting score in the playoffs.
